Structural Integration Bodywork

Structural Integration is a type of bodywork
that improves physical alignment, ease of movement, and the body-mind connection.  This modality can be a powerful tool for anyone who wants to improve their physical well-being and develop a greater sense of body awareness.

During each session, I listen to your unique "body-story" with care, honor your pain, help you orient to your body's adaptability, and support you in finding ways to bring joyful movement back into your life.

“Samuel was able to help me find my ability to move and connect with my body again. I began to find the joy in movement I had as a child, even to the point of being able to dance in my own 59-year- old body. Joy was returning to my life!” – Becky

Integrative and Holistic Bodywork

Structural Integration Bodywork works by releasing tension and restrictions in the connective tissues of the body including the fascia, muscles, and ligaments. I integrate a variety of techniques to help the body's various tissues become more adaptive and resilient. During your sessions, bodywork may be performed regionally, targeting certain areas as needed. The work is organized to develop better alignment, improve balance, and support the whole body.

Movement Education

Movement education works by helping you become more aware of your body and movement habits. I will guide you to pay attention to your posture, breath, and everyday activities. I'll also teach you exercises that help you explore movement in new ways, self-care practices to help areas of unease, and practical tools to help you integrate to a "movement lifestyle."

Somatic Dialogue

This is a unique and key component of my practice which involves a verbal exchange between myself and the client. I will use specific questions and cues to guide your attention to your body and internal experience, with the goal of increasing self awareness at all levels - physical, mental, emotional, and relational. This dialogue helps facilitate a deeper body-mind connection and can shift physical, emotional, and movement patterns.

Integrating Additional Bodywork, Movement, and Somatic Practices

Since becoming a Board Certified Structural Integration Practitioner I've immersed myself in continuing education in the fields of bodywork, movement education, and somatic dialogue. As a passionate learner, I weave together many interests and modalities, integrating them into our sessions together.
